The basic geometry in Silent Melodies is square. We wanted to see if we can use the rigidity of square to create visual poetry. By stacking squares and intuitively bending the scored lines between the squares, we create a visual composition of melodies.
Light changes the appearance of the artwork. This artwork is meant to be lit from above.
The artwork was exhibited in 2017 at the Center on Contemporary Art in Seattle, Washington and the Spartanburg Art Museum, Spartanburg, South Carolina.
